Susie is a wellness practitioner who works with busy people to achieve optimal health and vitality in their lives. We now know how to achieve optimal wellness, health and joy, using the science of genetics and neuroscience, together with the wisdoms of contemplative practice and the joy of possibility. This is truly an exciting time to make changes!
Hi! I’m not sure what brought you to me, but I’m guessing you would like to achieve optimal health, relationships, joy and wellbeing? Well you have come to the right place! Let me ask you a question.
- How many of you think that relationships affect your life?
I’m guessing most of you said yes! I know I did. Our health, our relationships, our sleep, our food, and more, they are all joined, and so we need to look at all aspects of our lives, and fix all the things that take us away from our optimal life, so that we can achieve optimal wellness, health and happiness. This integrative, holistic approach comes in two parts: Body and Being, but before I explain more, let me tell you a bit about my journey
I’ve been researching health since 1990, as my two sons had asthma, but something happened in 2014 to trigger my research again. My mum had broken her arm and wrist and so I went to look after her. I became concerned as she became increasingly unwell, and conventional medicine was making her worse, so I decided to use my research skills in human medical genetics and law, to see if science could provide any solutions. To my surprise and delight, after finding amazing research about the gut microbiome, and how environmental triggers can cause chronic disease, mum became well, and her chronic disorders reversed. She no longer had acid reflux, her anxiety, IBS and depression disappeared, her fibromyalgia went and her thyroid antibodies reduced from hundreds to only tens. At the same time (after I also followed the five easy steps that are now in my book) I stopped getting asthma and frequent colds, in spite of being surrounded by people sneezing (I still got some, but not many, and they were much milder). We both felt so healthy! It seemed like a miracle and I wanted to share it with everyone, but I needed to convince my inner sceptical scientist that what happened was not just a coincidence.
So I spent the next eighteen months reading three thousand research papers joining the dots revealed in the many avenues of research that I followed and connected. I gradually began to realise that, for the first time in decades, we now have scientifically proven solutions for what were considered to be incurable debilitating diseases.
It was hard work and I felt that I was definitely inspired from somewhere to carry on when, some days, it felt quite overwhelming, but it led to me writing and self-publishing my book…..Healthy Body, Healthy Weight, Healthy Mind: In Five Easy Steps.
My book includes mindfulness, and since my original research I have expanded my learning into the field of Mindfulness Awareness Practice that is grounded in science. I also found that we can achieve physical and mental health by opening up our minds to possibility and focal attention, based on neuroscience
So, lets look at the two parts of your life – Body and Being!
The first part looks at the things that affect your Body. Busy people don’t always take the time to look after their health, and so I created the Five Easy Steps Guide, to make it simple. Together, we look at:
Find food triggers of any health problems you have,
Rebalance your gut microbiome,
Find the secret of good sleep,
Find an optimal exercise that suits you and do some (science-proven) mindfulness awareness practice.
This applies to busy people that want to stay well, even if you do not have health issues. There is even a super simple easy way to lose weight and keep it off! An easy protocol for a healthy body and mind. You can read more about this in the ‘Five Easy Steps To The Life You Dream Of’ and ‘Weight Loss’ pages in the ‘What I Offer‘ section.
The second part looks at Being. We spend so much time ‘doing’ but we are after all human ‘beings’ and so we need to nurture this part of us too. For this, we can use:
Reiki, which is a gentle healing technique, practiced for thousands of years, which heals body, brain and being.
We also use gentle simple QIGONG movements or meditation before a Reiki session. We use Vision Boards (which are similar to mood boards that we use in interior design but for our person life as opposed to a room) to focus intention and clarify your dreams and desires for the future.
I’m looking forward to working with you!
You can read more about all of these on the ‘What I Offer‘ page.

As well as my BSc (Hons) degree in Human Medical Genetics and GDL Grad dip Law, I am a trained Nutritionist, after passing a course certified by the Association for Nutrition, although for speicific dietary advice I recommend that clients see a registered dietician.
I am also a Level 2 Reiki practitioner, achieving a Certificate of lineage from my Reiki Master that goes back to Dr Mikai Usui. This includes training in QIGONG and Meditation.

I am a member of the UK Reiki Federation (membership number 7182E),and I abide by their Code of Ethics. I am also a member of mindGAINS (Global Association for Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies). GAINS is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance the science, practice, and application of interpersonal neurobiology to promote health and wellbeing.
